This year is full of changes. After 10 years working professionally in theatre I have decided to leave that life and pursue photography full time. It was a huge decision for me, but I know I’ve made the right choice. I love what I do as a photographer. I love creating snapshots of a moment that will be treasured for lifetimes. I’ve never been one for making New Year’s resolutions, but this year I’m resolving to embrace this change and love every minute of it. It’s not every year that you get to make a change and follow your dreams, but I get to this year and I plan to make the most of it.
I’m so excited to start that I’ve created a list of things (about a mile long) that I want to work on and learn. So to start the year off right I’m spending the rest of the week at a photography workshop. I cannot wait to see who I meet and what I get to learn. My bags are all packed and I leave in just a few hours, well actually at this point it’s only an hour away. The most important things I’ve packed are my handy notebook (to capture all that wisdom) and my Christmas present, a brand new Canon 5D Mark II and 24-70 f/2.8 lens, it is one of the best camera out there.
And doesn’t that pretty strap just make it even more awesome?
I’m so excited to test myself and my new camera this week. It’s just the first week of a new year but I’m ready to go full speed ahead. Welcome, 2011, I can’t wait to see what you bring.
