Mystery Plant

I have a mystery plant in my garden.  I have no idea what it is… since I didn’t plant it.  It looks like some sort of squash, but it is in the planter bed with the sunflowers.  And I didn’t plant any squash from seed this year.  So I have no idea how it got there.  Either a seed snuck into one of my sunflower packets or the squirrels planted it for me.  I keep anxiously awaiting to see what kind of squash I’m gonna get, but so far there has been nothing.  For all I know it’s some sort of fall squash and I won’t find out for months.  But until then I’m gonna let it keep growing and maybe I’ll get something yummy.  🙂

Gaby Sessler Shearer - It sure looks like squash to me. But ya know how that is…maybe cucumbers, melons, etc.

Jen Spath - I had something along those lines grow out of the flower bed last year… it cascaded 20 feet across the lawn and blossomed a pumpkin. I definitely didn’t plant pumkin next to my irises, so thank you squirrels.

Deborah Williams - Betting on the birds or other critter leaving a seed behind. Looks like a pumpkin or melon of some sort. Yum either way.
