Throwback Thursday – First Pets

I laugh a lot at my first pets names.  Actually everyones’ first pet’s name.  They are so predictable and unoriginal, for the most part.  Ryan’s first pet was a cat and he named it Fluffy.  We enjoy making fun of that.  And I can, since my first cat’s name was even worse.  Wait for it… Kitty Kitty.  Oh so original.  And my first rabbit wasn’t any better, Bunny Fu Fu…. you know, like the song.  Thankfully over the years I’ve gotten better at naming my pets.  After all we can only have so many pets named fluffy and kitty and mittens.  🙂  What was your first pet named?

That is Ryan on the left with Fluffy…

Kate - My parents had three cats when I was born: Ashley (a Russian blue tomcat), Coriander (a beautiful mottled brown Abyssinian) and Jezebel (who appeared in their garage during a blizzard, already pregnant at less than a year old.) they were awesome cats. Our first parakeets were Anthony and Cleopatra…our first anoles were Ana and Ole…my first dog was Puppalina. (I was listening to a lot of Mozart at the time and loved the magic flute. I was 7.)

David B. Byrd - My first pet was named Duke. He was a Dachshund. Unfortunately he didn’t live very long – a neighbor poisoned him with antifreeze.
