Right now there isn’t much in my garden. A few herbs, and some plants I’m trying to keep alive. But not much to harvest and eat. I read a book that said that most of what is harvested in the winter actually does most of it’s growing before the cold weather. Not because the cold is so bad, but because it needs a certain amount of daylight, and we just don’t get enough in winter. That could be true… it makes sense to me. But I think I’m going to try planting some seeds anyway. Just some cold hardy greens. Nothing too fancy, so if they die I won’t be too sad. They may not grow this winter (or they may start and then die) but I figure if they don’t grow now, then they will already be planted and ready to go in spring and that sounds nice! So I’m gonna give it a try and keep you updated on the progress… if there is any.
