It’s officially spring! My garden is back! I’m so excited to share that with you! It was a long winter this year and I missed my garden. I stopped doing my weekly garden posts, because nothing was happening. It was just brown and sad. I tried to keep a few things alive over the winter, but most of them didn’t make it. Either they weren’t the sort of plant that was supposed to survive or it got too cold. But spring is here and so I’ve started planting seeds. I also stopped at Merrifield Garden Center (my favorite place ever!) and got some herbs to plant. I love planting herbs, there is nothing like knowing I can now flavor my food with fresh, lovely smelling plants. Plus, they are already green and visible (unlike my seeds) so they make me happy. :-)Here are some photos of the herbs I planted this week. There is Parsley, Cilantro, Basil, Dill, Chives, Oregano, Mint & Catnip (the catnip survived the winter! There is also some curry in the bed that I think survived the winter. I’m not 100% sure. But I’m giving it a shot at a comeback before I rip it out.) That is mint in the pot on the right. I planted my tiny plant in a bigger pot and buried the pot so it looks like I planted it in the ground, but hopefully it won’t take over the whole bed. We will see. It’s on notice that I will rip it out if it misbehaves.
