It’s fall… rather late in fall, and I’ve finally been prepping my garden for winter. My busiest times of year (as a photographer) seem to coincide with spring and fall planting so it’s kinda hard to stay on track as a gardener. But I finally started weeding and cleaning out some of the beds and getting more compost down on them. I also planted some fall greens that I’m hoping will grow and produce before the frost comes. I’ve still got some hot peppers growing and a few of my lettuce seeds have made little sprouts and I’m excited to watch them grow. Of course now that I have chickens running around its a bit more of a challenge, since they would love to dig them up and eat them! So you can see I’ve got a few cold frame lids out right now to protect them from the chickens. I guess top of the garden to do list for winter/spring is to devise a way to keep the chickens out!
