Just when I am ready for spring winter finally comes! The garden is buried in snow right now and all of my plans are on hold until things thaw. We did get all the cold frames raised up, and dirt added to the two on the far right. (the two on the left have plants in them right now so I can’t add more dirt!) All the remaining lids have been built and we just need to attach them to the last frame. They don’t insulate from the cold as well as they used to, but at least they shouldn’t flood now. I could always put hay bales around them in winter to insulate, but that would kill the grass and I’m not ready to do that.
In other news I ordered my seeds for spring planting! I’m super excited to get them! I ordered from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds this year. They are non-GMO and have a lot of neat varieties of plants. I’m excited to get these seeds in the ground and growing!
And a photo of the spinach growing in one of my cold frames… as well as a heart I drew in the snow, because it was fun and I love my yard!
