This month I got invited to join a group of photographers from around the country in a 10 on the 10th blog post. The goal is to post 10 photos of your life (all taken on the same day) on the 10th of the month. I love the idea. Primarily because I always want to take more photos of my everyday life, but normally leave my camera all packed up for work or really special occasions. And with a baby on the way I want to get a lot better at taking my camera out and taking photos as life happens.
So for my first month I grabbed the camera on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and this is some of what happened….
Buffy hanging out on the porch waiting for breakfast…
I didn’t plant morning glories this year, but they grew anyway. And have completely taken over my porch again. But they are so pretty I can’t be upset! And then I sat out on the back porch cleaning carrots from my garden so we could eat them!
I love having butterfly bushes in my yard since they attract the butterflies! Buffy was so thrilled to have beautiful weather and me outside that she pretty much frolicked at my feet all day… so there are a lot of photos of her. She was getting ready to pounce on something when I grabbed this one.
Ryan spent most of the day mowing the lawn (it’s a big task here) but took a little time off to tend to Buffy when she broke her nail. That’s one of the things I love most about him. He’s really good at caring. 🙂
And then we ended the evening with friends and a bonfire in the backyard. It was a pretty great day! (And one of my chickens on the right because I don’t always post enough photos of them and they were running around)
So what do you think? I love this lifestyle sort of photography and would love to do more of it with my clients. I think it will be a fun way for me to get used to documenting my life. And it’s a fun way to push myself as a photographer. In this case I only used my 85mm lens. Just to see what I could get. Maybe next month I’ll try a different one. We’ll see. In the mean time if you loved this go check out the other fabulous ladies who are working on the project with me:
